Bluepeak Vice President Desi Stoops presented Blackwell Public Schools with a check for $5,000 toward the purchase of a new video board in the Blackwell High School Fieldhouse. The funds will allow for enhanced integration of interactive technologies to be used during school events held in the Fieldhouse. Blackwell Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Haskins and Blackwell High School Principal Gerald Magin were on hand to accept the gift from Bluepeak’s VP of Market Development, Desi Stoops, who is certainly no stranger to the City of Blackwell.
“I have many fond memories of summers spent in Blackwell in the early 80s, while my father was stationed there with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, said Stoops. In addition, I’ve known EJ Edgar, the BPS Assistant Athletic Director, and his family, my entire life. They are Perry natives as am I, and it’s just a special feeling to help communities that I’ve spent so much of my time in. It’s something I’m proud to be able to do, since the fiber internet asset we’ve deployed in Blackwell will continue on for generations to come.” “We are thankful to have a true community partner in Bluepeak that not only cares about the technology for residents, but also cares about all that we are doing here at the school system, said Blackwell Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Haskins. We look forward to the continued collaboration in the days, months and years to come.”
