The first of November through December, the 5th grade classes learned many aspects of cooking such as; reading a recipe, kitchen and food safety, and how to measure ingredients. With many parents working outside the home, families need everyone to help with household chores. Sadly some students are left at home and required to fend for themselves. Cooking is a life skill that will serve well for all students. A few benefits are as followed:• Families cooking together provide quality family time.• Making a meal boosts confidence.• Following a recipe teaches math.• Understanding a recipe improves reading comprehension.
